The Burbach Tells You to Shut Up!

F/X
**
1986, dir. Robert Mandel, Blu-ray
Begins promisingly, and devolves quickly into excessive ’80s absurdity (which, by the way, sometimes works, but not here). I always wanted to see this as a kid, and now that I finally have, I wish I’d seen it as a 10-year-old. I would have enjoyed it much more. A very nice set of supporting actors, though: Mason Adams, Jerry Orbach, Diane Venora, Joe Grifasi, Roscoe Orman (a.k.a. Gordon on SESAME STREET), Trey Wilson, Tom Noonan, and Cliff de Young. Fun just seeing a cool bunch of actors work together, even if the film’s stunts and chases are contrived and the denouement completely ruins any good opinion we may have of the lead characters.
